Ben Harman is a fourth generation farmer on a 334ha mixed farm in the Chiltern Hills in Buckinghamshire. He owns the oldest herd of British Charolais in the UK which was started by his grandfather and progressed by his father. He has a beef brand ‘ChagyuTM’, a blend of Charolais and Wagyu cattle which is sold both direct to consumers and through outlets and also has a commercial herd based predominantly around Saler cows.
Ben chairs the National Beef Association and the Beef Genetics Advisory Forum and holds positions on a number of other industry organisations. He has a passion for sustainability across all three pillars (economic, social and environment) and is a keen advocate of supporting young people in agriculture to broaden horizons and become future industry leaders.
