Donald has spent a lifetime working with livestock. He’s a fourth generation farmer and for the past 30 years has farmed in partnership with his wife. They run a herd of Salers and Salers x cows using an Aberdeen Angus bull with all progeny sold as 12-month old stores to local Dovecote finishers.

Donald was involved in Red Tractor assessments for 10 years and managed a team of 30 farm assessors. He is passionate about high health schemes, with their own herd having a High Health status for some years, which has resulted in better returns from their stock.

He enjoys working with livestock markets and specialist livestock event organisers and helping them CHECS members health status of their stock is maintained at such events.
